International Fibre Subscriptions Hit the 50M Mark with IPTV a Key Driver

The global demand for fibre connectivity is growing at a phenomenal rate, as highlighted by the latest research from Informa.  

FTTH subscriptions have reached 50 million, with yearly growth figures reaching its highest levels ever, with 11 million new subscriptions in the last 12 months. The research also found that IPTV subscribers, a key demand group for FTTx connections has now topped 20 million.

The research covers 730 fixed broadband (xDSL, cable broadband, FTTx, LAN, satellite and fixed wireless) operators in 160 countries, and nearly 100 IPTV operators in 50 countries.
