|Abu Dhabi Ambitions for FTTH|
United Arab Emirates-based telecoms company Etisalat, responsible for bringing FTTH to every home and workplace in Abu Dhabi, is set to capitalise on this experience to bid for similar contracts overseas.
In one of the country’s most ambitious infrastructure modernisation projects, the FTTH network, planned to reach every home in the country by 2011, already connects to 300,000 homes and offices.
According to the company, the whole of the capital of UAE (Abu Dhabi) will be connected to FTTH by the start of the third quarter of this year, which will place it as the first capital in the world to fully migrate to FTTH.
