|FTTH Favoured in Swiss Cities as VDSL Takes a Back-Seat|
Swisscom has announced it has stopped its VDSL rollouts and instead embraced FTTH as the broadband access method of choice for the largest cities in Switzerland.
While VDSL will remain a key technology for other geographic areas, the shift to FTTH clearly signals the incumbent’s acceptance of the fibre business case.
The operator is targeting a goal of reaching 1m FTTH connections by 2015.
