|FTTX and Broadband in General Forecast to Rise in Western Europe|
Analyst firm Strategy Analytics has published a new forecast for broadband growth in Western Europe, claiming there will be 150m broadband subscribers in the region by 2013 (80% of all households). A total of 9% of these will be via fibre connection.
“The excitement in the Western European market today is clearly about fibre. As France, Germany, and other countries position themselves for major fiber roll-outs, we are forecasting the total number of FTTx connections in Western Europe to grow by 47 percent in the next five years," commented a Strategy Analytics analyst.
