Telecom Egypt rolling out 70 Mbps FTTH in Cairo

In suburban Cairo, more precisely in the Qatamiya area, Telecom Egypt has launched an FTTH service offering 70 Megabits for residential and business customers.

Residential customers will enjoy triple play services – a bundle of internet access, fixed line telephony and IP-TV. Telecom Egypt mentions additional ‘Smart Home’ services becoming available, such as ‘Family internet services’ and online gaming. The country’s leading telecoms operator also strongly believes in future applications like e-health, online education, video conferencing, security services and remote control of home appliances.
